Graduating in law from the University of Liege in 1989, and obtaining specialist degree in taxation and accounting from Gent University in 1991 and in tax law from the University of Liege in 1995, Luc Herve is a lawyer at the Bar of Liege and managing partner of ScPRL L Herve.
He is a lecturer at the University of Liege Tax Institute, teaching the HEC-ULg master's course in taxation.
He is a researcher in the University of Liege Law Faculty, working for Professor Benoît Kohl (civil and contract law) and Professor Marc Bourgeois (tax law).
He also researches at HEC, working for Professor Surlemont (entrepreneurs' programme).
He is a member and former secretary of the Law and Business Life Committee (CDVA) in the University of Liege Law Faculty.
He teaches corporate law, tax procedure, registration fees and inheritance tax on the advanced tax and accounting course at the Ecole Supérieure de Comptabilité in Liege (CBCEC Liège).
He is deputy legal advisor to the French-language Executive Chamber of the IPCF (Institute of Accounting Professionals and Tax Experts).
He is a member of the editorial committee of the tax law journals Lettre Fiscale Belge and Revue Trimestrielle de Droit fiscal belge and of the Liège Bar corporate law newsletter. He writes on tax law for the Revue de Jurisprudence de Liège, Mons et Bruxelles (JLMB).
